If you already use NinjaBet for ValueBet or SureBet, Matched Betting is the best place to understand how sportsbook offers can be used in a structured way.

ValueBet helps you find bets where the sportsbook odds are higher than the estimated fair value. SureBet helps you find price differences between sportsbooks and cover all possible outcomes. Matched Betting works differently.

With Matched Betting, you use sportsbook promotions, such as welcome offers, bonuses, bonus bets, refunds, odds boosts, and recurring offers. The goal is not to predict the result of a game. The goal is to use the offer correctly and reduce the impact of the final result by placing a second calculated bet that covers the opposite side.

A Matched Betting operation is not based on guessing which team or player will win. It is based on reading the offer conditions, choosing the right market, calculating the correct stakes, and placing every bet correctly.

NinjaBet includes a dedicated Matched Betting section with tools, calculators, guides, offers, resources, and a free learning path that lets you complete a welcome offer for free and make your first profit.

What is Matched Betting?

Matched Betting is a method for using sportsbook offers in a strategic way. A normal bettor looks at a game and asks:

Which team will win?

A matched bettor asks:

How can I use this offer so that the result matters as little as possible?

That is the main difference.

Sportsbooks often give promotions to attract new customers or keep existing users active. For example, an offer may say:

Bet $10 and receive a $20 bonus bet.

The bonus has value, but it is usually not cash yet. You normally need to use it on a bet before you can turn it into withdrawable money.

Most people use the bonus like a normal gamble. Matched Betting uses it differently. You place the sportsbook bet required by the offer, then you place another calculated bet to cover the opposite result. This second bet is what controls the operation.

One side will win and the other side will lose. That is normal. What matters is not whether one single bet wins. What matters is the final result of the complete offer.

Why sportsbook offers matter

Matched Betting does not create profit because you know more about sports. It creates profit because sportsbook offers have value.

The basic idea is:

Expected Profit = Offer Value − Matching Cost

The offer value can come from a bonus, a bonus bet, a refund, an odds boost, a rollover promotion, or another sportsbook promotion.

The matching cost is the cost of covering the other side of the bet. This cost depends on the odds, the ProphetX 2% commission on net winnings, the cover method, and how close the prices are between the sportsbook and the cover side.

For example, a welcome offer may require you to place a qualifying bet first. This qualifying bet may create a small cost, but it unlocks the bonus. The bonus bet is then converted into real profit by placing another matched operation.

This is why a matched bettor does not judge the result bet by bet. A matched bettor judges the result offer by offer.

For example:

  • the qualifying bet may create a small loss;
  • the bonus bet may create a larger profit;
  • the final offer result is positive.

The offer creates the value. The matching bet helps protect that value.

The Matched Betting tools available on NinjaBet

NinjaBet includes several tools dedicated to Matched Betting.

ProphetX

ProphetX is the peer-to-peer exchange NinjaBet uses to cover your bets. Because it is back-only, you cover a sportsbook bet by betting the opposite outcome on ProphetX.

This is the core Matched Betting setup on NinjaBet. You place the bet required by the offer at the sportsbook, then you bet the opposite outcome on ProphetX (or at another sportsbook). By covering both sides, you can know in advance what the result will be in each possible outcome. You work out the correct cover stake with the Dutcher and the Calculator.

This is usually the most important step for beginners, because many welcome offers and recurring offers can be completed with one bet at the sportsbook and one covering bet on ProphetX.

Dutcher

The Dutcher helps you cover a sportsbook bet by placing one or more bets on the opposite outcomes, either on ProphetX or at other sportsbooks.

This is useful when covering on ProphetX is not available at a good price, or when covering the bet at another sportsbook gives a better result.

For example, instead of covering the opposite outcome on ProphetX, you may bet the opposite selection at another sportsbook. The Dutcher calculates the stakes needed so that you can understand the result for each possible outcome.

MultiOdds

The MultiOdds helps you manage parlay-based Matched Betting offers.

Some sportsbook promotions require the qualifying bet, bonus bet, refund bet, or boosted bet to be placed as a parlay. A parlay is a bet made of multiple selections, and every selection must win for the parlay to win.

The MultiOdds helps you build the parlay and cover it one leg at a time, betting the opposite outcome on ProphetX or at another sportsbook, depending on the situation.

Calculator

The Calculator lets you calculate a Matched Betting operation manually.

Unlike the Dutcher, the Calculator does not search for betting combinations. You enter the odds, stake, commission, offer type, and settings manually, and the Calculator shows the correct cover stake and the expected result.

This is useful when you want to check an operation, adjust a calculation, or understand how the numbers change in different scenarios.

Conditional Calculator

The Conditional Calculator helps you evaluate offers made of two connected parts, such as a qualifying bet and a bonus reward.

Instead of calculating the two parts separately, the Conditional Calculator helps you estimate whether the full offer is profitable by considering both the initial cost and the expected value of the bonus.

Bet Tracker

The Bet Tracker helps you record your Matched Betting activity, monitor results, and track balances across sportsbooks and ProphetX.

This is especially useful because Matched Betting often involves several sportsbooks, ProphetX, qualifying bets, bonus bets, deposits, withdrawals, and settled results. By recording your activity, you can understand your real profit over time and keep your bankroll organized.

NinjaClub

The NinjaClub is the NinjaBet community forum.

It is useful for asking questions, reading discussions about offers, learning from other users, and staying updated on sportsbook situations, recurring promotions, and practical Matched Betting doubts.

Matched Betting offers

NinjaBet includes guides and tools for different types of Matched Betting offers.

The categories are:

  • Welcome Offers
  • Recurring Offers

Welcome offers are the first offers you complete when registering with a sportsbook. Recurring offers are promotions available to existing users after the welcome phase.

NinjaBet explains how each offer works, what conditions must be respected, which tool to use, and how to calculate the operation correctly.

Some offers are simple and beginner-friendly. Others require more experience because they may involve rollover requirements, parlays, refunds, boosts, or conditional rewards.

The important point is always the same: do not treat the offer like a normal gamble. Read the instructions, use the correct tool, calculate the stakes, and check the result before placing the bets.

Final summary

Matched Betting is a strategy based on using sportsbook offers in a controlled way.

Unlike ValueBet, it does not depend on finding odds that are higher than the estimated fair value. Unlike SureBet, it does not mainly depend on price differences between sportsbooks. Matched Betting starts from sportsbook promotions and uses calculated cover bets to reduce the importance of the final result.
