Profit boost calculator: what a boost is worth hedged

A profit boost raises the winnings of one bet by a percentage, so a 50% boost turns +200 into +300. Enter the stake, the odds, the boost and how the sportsbook applies it, then the odds on the other side: the calculator shows the boosted odds and the hedge stake that leaves the same profit whoever wins.

How to use the calculator

  1. 1

    Enter the boosted bet

The stake, the odds before the boost and the boost percentage. Check the maximum stake in the terms.

  2. 2

    Enter the hedge odds

The odds on the opposite outcome at another sportsbook or prediction market.

  3. 3

    Place the hedge shown

Bet the stake shown on the other side: the profit is the same whoever wins. A boost that leaves little after the hedge can still be a positive EV bet on its own.

Worked example

A 50% profit boost on a $50 bet at +200 (3.00): the winnings go from $100 to $150, so the boosted odds are +300 (4.00). The other side is -150 (1.6667) at another book. Hedging $120.00 there leaves $30.00 whoever wins: $150 - $120, or $80 from the hedge - $50.

Frequently asked questions

What is a profit boost?

A promotion that increases the winnings of a bet by a percentage, usually up to a maximum stake. With a 25% boost, +100 pays like +125. Some sportsbooks call it an odds boost.

How are boosted odds calculated?

Boosted winnings = normal winnings × (1 + boost). In decimal odds: 1 + (odds - 1) × (1 + boost). The calculator converts American odds both ways.

Should I hedge a profit boost?

Hedging locks a small, certain profit, which suits large boosts. A smaller boost often leaves too little after the hedge: then the boosted bet alone can be a positive EV bet, which the EV calculator measures.

Which markets work best?

Two-way markets with a low hold, such as moneylines and totals of popular games, where the price on the other side is close to fair.
