These terms are related, but they do not always lead to the same settlement.

Postponed event

The event does not take place at the originally scheduled time, but it may be played later.

Depending on the sportsbook or ProphetX rules:

• The bet may remain valid if the event is rescheduled within the allowed time.
• The bet may be voided if it is moved too far into the future.
• The rules may differ between sportsbook bets and ProphetX bets.

Cancelled event

The event will not take place as planned and is usually settled as void, unless the operator’s rules state otherwise.

Abandoned event

The event starts but is later interrupted and not completed normally.

Some markets may already have a determined outcome and remain valid, while others may be voided. This depends on the market rules.

Void bet

A void bet is treated as if it did not take place:

• For a single bet, the stake is normally returned.
• For a parlay, the void selection is usually removed from the bet, and the parlay continues with the remaining selections according to the sportsbook’s rules.

Before changing anything in NinjaBet, check the actual status of the bet where it was placed.

Look for one of these situations:

• The bet is still open and waiting for the rescheduled event.
• The bet has already been settled as void.
• The stake has been returned.
• The market has disappeared from ProphetX because it was voided.
• The selection inside a parlay has been removed or treated as odds of 1.00.

This step matters because the correct NinjaBet action depends on what has already happened on the sportsbook or ProphetX side.

This is the simplest case.

It applies when you placed a bet at a sportsbook and covered it by betting the opposite outcome on ProphetX (or another sportsbook).

If the event is voided on both sides:

• The sportsbook stake is refunded.
• The ProphetX cover bet is voided or refunded according to the ProphetX rules.
• The matched betting operation effectively disappears.

In this case, there is usually nothing else to calculate. You simply wait for both sides to be settled correctly.

Important checks

Make sure that:

• Both sides of the operation are settled consistently.
• The stake has been returned where expected.
• A bonus stake has not expired or been removed unexpectedly after the void settlement.

If a bonus was used and the event is voided close to or after the bonus expiry date, contact the sportsbook if the bonus is not restored automatically.

This applies when an event inside a MultiOdds parlay is cancelled or voided.

In many cases, the sportsbook removes that selection from the parlay and recalculates the bet using only the remaining legs. In practical terms, the void leg behaves like a selection settled at odds of 1.00.

What to do in MultiOdds

If one parlay leg has been voided and removed from the bet:

1. Open the saved parlay in MultiOdds.
2. Unlock any already covered previous legs if necessary.
3. Replace the bet’s odds of the voided selection with 1.00.
4. Replace the cover odds of that selection with 1.00 where applicable.
5. Save or update the parlay.
6. Continue covering the next valid leg shown by MultiOdds.

This updates the tool so that it reflects the new structure of the sportsbook parlay.

Why this is necessary

The original MultiOdds calculation assumed that the cancelled leg could still affect the parlay. Once the sportsbook removes it, that leg no longer changes the final outcome, so MultiOdds must also treat it as neutral.

Sometimes a parlay leg is postponed, but the sportsbook keeps it active because the event is rescheduled within its allowed settlement window.

In that case, the selection should not be replaced with odds of 1.00. It is still part of the parlay.

Instead, you need to understand whether the postponement changes the chronological order of the events.

If the postponed leg is still the next relevant event in the parlay order, nothing major changes.

You should:

1. Keep the parlay saved as it is.
2. Confirm that the sportsbook and ProphetX bets are still valid.
3. Continue covering that event when it is due to be played.

If you had already placed the cover bet, check that it has not been voided by ProphetX or the sportsbook.

This is more important.

Suppose your parlay originally had this order:

1. Event A
2. Event B
3. Event C

If Event A is postponed and rescheduled after Event B, the real order becomes:

1. Event B
2. Event A
3. Event C

In this case, MultiOdds must reflect the new order.

What to do

1. Open the saved parlay in MultiOdds.
2. Update the date or timing of the postponed event.
3. Save the parlay so the legs are ordered correctly by their actual start time.
4. Cover the event that will now be played first.

This ensures that the next cover calculated by MultiOdds matches the real sequence of the parlay.

Sometimes you may have already placed a cover bet for an event, and only afterwards discover that it has been postponed and moved later in the parlay order.

There are two possible situations.

The postponed event still remains relevant later

If the event is still valid and will be played later, update the MultiOdds parlay first.

After the earlier leg has been settled:

• If the parlay is still alive, compare the new cover amount now required for the postponed event with the cover you already placed.
• If the new required cover is higher, place only the difference.
• If the existing cover is no longer correct, adjust carefully based on the updated calculation.

The parlay loses before reaching the postponed event

If an earlier parlay leg loses before the postponed event is played, the parlay is already finished.

In that case, any cover bet already placed on the postponed event is no longer needed. If your ProphetX offer is still pending (or only partially filled), you can cancel the unmatched part to remove the unnecessary exposure. If the cover has already been Filled, remember that ProphetX has no cash out, so you cannot close it early — you simply let it run to settlement.

A postponement can create a more advanced problem: two parlay events may now start at the same time, or too close together to cover one after the other.

When that happens, the normal MultiOdds sequence cannot be followed.

Tennis requires extra care because settlement rules for postponements, interruptions, retirements, and withdrawals can differ significantly between operators.

For example:

• A match delayed by weather may remain valid and simply continue later.
• A player retirement after the match has started may be settled differently depending on the sportsbook or ProphetX.
• ProphetX tennis rules and sportsbook tennis rules are not identical, and different sportsbooks may use different settlement criteria again. 

The same idea applies to other US sports: an MLB game postponed by rain, for example, may be rescheduled and remain valid at one sportsbook while being voided at another, so always confirm the rule before adjusting your operation.

What to do with tennis

Before placing or adjusting a matched betting operation on tennis, check:

1. What the sportsbook does if a player retires.
2. What ProphetX does in the same situation.
3. Whether the bet remains valid after a postponement or interruption.
4. Whether the market requires a full match, one completed set, or another condition to stand.

This is especially important in matched betting because a sportsbook and ProphetX may not settle the same tennis match in the same way.

Do not assume every postponed event becomes void

Some events remain valid if they are rescheduled within the allowed window. Always check the operator rules and the bet status in your account.

Do not replace a parlay leg with 1.00 unless it has actually been voided

Use odds of 1.00 in MultiOdds only when the sportsbook has removed the selection or settled it as void within the parlay.

Reorder the parlay if the schedule changes

If a postponed event is now played later than another leg, update the saved MultiOdds parlay so the event order matches reality.

Check both sides of the operation

The sportsbook and ProphetX may not settle a postponed or abandoned event at exactly the same time, or in exactly the same way.

Be careful with already placed cover bets

If the parlay structure changes after a postponement, a previously placed cover may need to be adjusted, supplemented, or cancelled while it is still pending.

Treat tennis with extra caution

Tennis is one of the sports where settlement differences can create the most confusion. Check the rules before assuming what will happen.

When an event is cancelled, postponed, abandoned, or settled as void, the correct response depends on how the sportsbook and ProphetX settle the bet.

The practical workflow is:

1. Check the official event status.
2. Check how the sportsbook and ProphetX have settled the bet.
3. If it is a single bet and both sides are void, wait for the stakes to be returned.
4. If it is a parlay leg settled as void, update MultiOdds by setting that leg to 1.00 where required.
5. If it is a postponed parlay leg that remains valid, keep it in the parlay and update the event order if necessary.

7. For tennis, always check the operator-specific settlement rules before making assumptions.

Handled correctly, a cancelled or postponed event does not have to create confusion. The key is to first understand how the bet has been settled, then update the NinjaBet operation so it matches the new reality.
